News Updates Hub

This hub is the news desk for Delverium, Sagestone Games’ 2D survival sandbox. Brisbane developer Scott Lowther (Skoddle) and a small circle of collaborators — including BAFTA-winning audio director Jeff van Dyck — have been posting Steam news, playtest windows, and demo updates rather than numbered patch files. We collect those announcements here so you can tell a closed playtest from a store-page date, and a free demo slice from the paid Early Access build.\n\nSteam currently schedules Early Access for September 22, 2026. The storefront can show September 21 depending on timezone; SteamDB lists an unlock around 13:00 UTC on the 22nd. Until that date, the paid game is still upcoming. The Delverium Demo (app 3426800) has been on Steam since February 2025, and a February 2026 multiplayer update expanded that slice to eight-player online co-op. Treat this wiki as unofficial: confirm dates on Steam, then follow Discord, X, YouTube, and Bluesky.\n\n## Pages in this section\n\n- Early Access date, price, and content — what Sagestone says ships on day one, how long Early Access may last, and why the price can rise later.\n- Free demo scope — starting biomes, session length, co-op rules, and the February 2026 multiplayer demo update.\n- Development roadmap — Q4 2025 goals that already landed, June 2026 systems such as fishing and cosmetics, and the 1.0 content list.

  • Early Access features — fishing, cosmetics, Journey shrines, controller support, and what the EA FAQ lists versus the short demo.\n\nIf you are installing for the first time, pair this hub with the getting started guide and the co-op setup notes. Hardware questions belong on the system requirements page; hosting questions belong on dedicated servers.\n\n## Public timeline (verified)\n\nUse this as a reading order, not as a patch changelog. Sagestone does not publish semantic versions such as 0.8.1 on the store, and this wiki will not invent them.\n\n1. February 2025 — The demo (Steam 3426800) has been on Steam since this month. Early coverage described a short starting-biome slice with solo play and local split-screen.\n2. October 2025 — A public playtest ran 3–13 October. Skoddle then posted a Q4 2025 roadmap covering difficulty, rebindable controls, more than four players, simultaneous split-screen plus online play, biome art, and a larger demo update.\n3. February 20, 2026 — The multiplayer demo update added 8-player online co-op, mixed split-screen and online sessions, an art pass, ambient audio, control rebinding, Journey shrines, an extra early boss, NPC room assignment, lore/quest UI, and extra character/world creation options.\n4. June 7, 2026 — A development update described fishing, critter bait, cosmetic armour slots, and extra biomes, enemies, bosses, materials, and equipment aimed at Early Access rather than the short demo.\n5. July 17–20, 2026 (PDT) — A public playtest ran from 12:00 a.m. Friday through 12:00 a.m. Tuesday. That window already closed. It was a feedback burst before the dated Early Access announcement, not an event still on the calendar.\n6. July 30, 2026 — Skoddle announced Steam Early Access for September 22, thanked playtesters, and said many suggestions would land during Early Access rather than on day one.\n7. September 22, 2026 — Scheduled Early Access (store may show September 21). Sagestone expects to stay in Early Access for up to about two years, adding biomes, bosses, loot, NPC options, deeper lore, and possibly more achievements and languages on the way to 1.0.\n\n## What “update” means for Delverium\n\nPlayers coming from live-service games often look for weekly patch notes. Delverium is a small-studio sandbox: the public record is Steam news posts, demo builds, and playtests. When Early Access begins, expect Sagestone to keep using that same channel. We will fold official notes into this hub and the three child pages instead of fabricating version strings.\n\nThat also means some features exist in different builds. Fishing, cosmetics, and extra biomes were described as Early Access work in June 2026. The demo remains a starting-biome, early-dungeon slice of about one to two hours (some players linger two to three). The review page is the place for “is the slice worth your evening?”; this hub is the place for “what changed, and when?”\n\nCo-op is part of the update story because the February 2026 demo work is what made eight Steam friends share one world. The world still lives on the host PC while that player has the game open. There is no official dedicated server and none on the official roadmap. Community tools such as Lodestone are documented under dedicated servers so this news hub does not pretend Sagestone ships them.\n\n## How we source news\n\nPrimary sources are the Steam app 2710040 news hub, the demo app 3426800 description, and Sagestone’s social accounts. Secondary coverage (Pixelkin, ScreenHub, GameDaily, Niche Gamer) is useful for quotes and wishlist context, but it is not a substitute for the store FAQ. When those sources disagree — for example September 21 versus September 22 — we keep both and explain timezone. When a press piece calls the game “Steam Deck Verified” without a Valve badge we can cite, we defer to Sagestone’s own Steam Deck support video instead of copying the claim.\n\nWishlist counts move. Mid-2026 articles cited around 80,000 wishlists; later estimators disagree. We mention the figure only as contemporaneous press, not as a live counter.\n\n## Related reading\n\nNew players should start with getting started, then skim players if they care who is making the game. Bookmark official links for Discord and store URLs. Come back here when Skoddle posts the first Early Access news item after September 22 — that post will be the first true “patch note” this hub can log.\n\nThis page will not recap combat loops or crop timers. It exists so the rest of the wiki can link to a single, dated news map instead of repeating “September 22” in every guide without context.
FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common Delverium questions.

When does Delverium enter Steam Early Access?

Sagestone scheduled September 22, 2026. The Steam storefront may show September 21 depending on timezone. Until then the paid game is still upcoming.

Is the demo the same build as Early Access?

No. The demo is a starting-biome slice of about one to two hours. Early Access is the paid, fully playable core with hours of content, fishing, cosmetics, and more biomes.

Where should I look for patch notes?

Steam news on app 2710040 is the official channel. This unofficial hub indexes those posts. Sagestone has not published numbered client versions such as 0.9.0.

Did I miss the July 2026 playtest?

Yes. The July 17–20, 2026 PDT playtest already closed. Use the demo plus Steam news rather than waiting for that window to reopen.

Will this wiki invent version numbers?

No. We date changes from Steam posts (February 2026 demo update, June 2026 development update, July 2026 Early Access announcement) instead of fabricating patch IDs.
