Delverium NPCs Hub
Recruit traders with a real room — not a giant named roster we invented.
Delverium NPCs are not a 40-name gacha roster. Demo reports and official copy keep repeating the same job: build a valid room, invite someone who is already wandering the overworld, then buy and talk. This hub is the map for that loop. Steam Early Access is scheduled for September 22, 2026 (the storefront may show September 21). The free demo has been on Steam since February 2025.
Sagestone Games (Scott Lowther / Skoddle) has described NPCs as traders, hint-givers, and nearby defenders — with more features possible later if players ask. We will not invent a huge named cast to look like a finished MMO. The four jobs that keep showing up in previews are gatherer (forager), blacksmith, agronomist, and merchant.
Pages in this section
- Recruiting NPCs — walls, door, bed, light source, then the move-in talk.
- NPC roles — what each of the four jobs actually sells and says once they live in the settlement.
Read getting started if you do not have a house yet. Room pieces come from crafting. Livestock talk belongs with the agronomist and the farming guide. Gear talk belongs with the blacksmith and the tools and weapons ranks.
What an NPC needs before they “join”
Preview reports agree on a short checklist, not a friendship meter:
- Enclosed walls
- A door
- A bed
- A light source
Then they can live in the settlement, set up shop, and offer trades plus dialogue. Demo footage often shows each newcomer asking for a spare valid room before they will sell. If the room fails (open wall, no lamp, no bed), they stay on the road. Details and co-op callouts live on the recruiting page.
Why house anyone at all
You can forage, farm, and delve without a tenant. You will spend more time walking. Gatherers restock seeds and wild goods. Blacksmiths are the practical answer to “where do I buy the next helmet.” Agronomists explain till-seed-water, sell chicks, and push you toward a real pen. Merchants fill gaps when your chests are empty. Developer comments also note that NPCs can attack nearby threats, which matters when zombies wander the lawn at night.
That is the whole pitch. It is closer to a cozy settlement sim than to a collectible fighter list, which is why this category is labeled NPCs in the nav even though the folder key is players.
Co-op, hosting, and fairness
Up to four people can split-screen and up to eight can play online, mixed on one world. There is no official dedicated server. The host’s machine holds the settlement, including NPC rooms, unless you read community hosting notes. Build extra beds if friends will log in after you. Do not assume a roommate can “keep the village running” on a cloud box Sagestone did not ship. Practical session rules sit in the co-op guide.
What we will not publish
- A fake 20-NPC tier list with made-up names.
- Redeem codes or Roblox avatars.
- Exact gold tables we have not seen.
- A Trello of planned villagers. None is confirmed; use Steam Discussions and Discord instead (see the links hub).
Demo playthroughs have shown individual names attached to the four jobs. Treat those as preview examples, not a promise that Early Access stops at four people. When Sagestone adds a job, it will get a section on roles. Until then, four rooms is a complete first village.
A sane build order
- Player bed and light so you respawn.
- One NPC room, then recruit whoever you found first (often a gatherer or blacksmith in footage).
- Agronomist once you want chickens and a pen.
- Merchant when you need a general dump for extras.
That order is a village, not a census. If your group would rather delve than decorate, two rooms still beat zero: one blacksmith, one anyone who sells food. Calendar and scope notes live on the Early Access page. Wishlist the Steam page if you are waiting on the September window, and keep using the demo to practice rooms now.
Finish the first four rooms before you landscape a cathedral. NPCs in Delverium pay rent in shops and warnings, not in a collectible album. When a fifth job is confirmed, this hub will link it. Until then, house the four you can actually find.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common Delverium questions.
How many NPCs are in Delverium?
Demo reports consistently show four jobs: gatherer, blacksmith, agronomist, and merchant. Sagestone Games has said NPC features can expand. This wiki will not invent a huge named roster ahead of those updates.
What does an NPC need to move in?
A valid room: walls, a door, a bed, and a light source. Then they live in the settlement and offer trades and dialogue. Step-by-step notes are on recruiting NPCs.
Do NPCs fight?
Developer comments say they can attack nearby threats as well as trade and talk. Do not expect a full automation sim; they are not a set-and-forget labor force in the current preview.
Is this a character tier list?
No. There is no PvP fighter ladder. If you want item ranks, use the tier list hub. This section is about housing and shops.
Can co-op friends share NPCs?
Yes. One world, one settlement. Up to eight online players use the same rooms. There is no official dedicated server; see co-op and hosting notes.
Where do I send NPC feature requests?
Steam Discussions and the official Discord. There is no confirmed Trello board. Official URLs are collected on the links hub.
